Orca Sand & Gravel - Heavy Equipment Operator
Job Description: Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the HEO position is responsible for the safe and productive operation of equipment following all applicable OSG Practices and Procedures. To complete a pre-trip inspection of equipment prior to operation, complete logbook entries after inspection and turn in logbook sheet at end of shift, complete inspection forms and report any problems or mechanical defects to Supervisor. Duties include but are not limited to safe/productive operation of mine equipment (scraper, loader, dozer and excavator), clean up of assigned area, assisting with screen changes in the plant, greasing duties, assisting with ship moorage, other duties may be assigned as determined by operational requirements.
Success in this position is demonstrated by the willingness to learn and take on new tasks, with the ability to maintain the expected level of safety, quality and productivity. Maintain pit blend requirements to ensure quality controls are met. Report all injuries, near misses and incidents to your Supervisor as soon as they take place, take part in incident investigations as required.
