* JOB POSTING (Internal Posting)**
Kwakiutl First Nation
Lands and Resources Worker
Full-Time Term Position
About the Opportunity:
Our community developed a Land Use Plan in 2018. This plan is a living document for our Nation. It sets out the work we need to do to responsibly and effectively manage the lands and resources throughout our Territory. Through BC’s Capacity Initiative fund, our Nation recently received monies to support a full-time, term position Lands & Resources Worker to help with carrying out the work of our Lands & Resources Department. The successful candidate will be able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with Band staff, Chief and Council, and external consultants. There is potential for this position to become permanent, dependent on the candidate’s performance and interest, and our ability to secure funding into the future.
The position is a full-time, 1-year, term position, with a salary range of $17-21/hour, dependent on experience. On-the-job training and mentoring will be provided, dependent on candidate’s experience and need. The position reports to the Lands & Resources Manager but works as a team member with all the administration. The successful applicant will be required to sign an employment contract and our personnel policy, which will include a job description, expectations of professional conduct and confidentiality, and agreed-upon salary and benefits. After a two-week internal community posting, we will be posting to external job boards.
